Question 1

Is remove.bg really shutting down?

Accepted Answer

Its standalone website will stop being available on 1 December 2026 at 9:00 CET. Background removal is moving into Canva and the API into Leonardo.Ai. See remove.bg's FAQ for details.

Question 2

What is the best free remove.bg alternative?

Accepted Answer

It depends on what you need. RemovePixel is a good fit if you want free cutouts without an account, no watermark, small bulk batches, an API and extra image tools. Canva suits people who already design there.

Question 3

Is RemovePixel really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You get 10 free removals a day without login and 15 with a free account.

Question 4

Do I need to create an account?

Accepted Answer

No, not for your free daily removals. Bulk upload requires a login.

Question 5

Does RemovePixel add a watermark?

Accepted Answer

No. Free and paid results download without a watermark.

Question 6

Can I remove backgrounds from many images at once?

Accepted Answer

Yes. After logging in, you can upload up to 10 images at once.

Question 7

What is the maximum file size?

Accepted Answer

Large images are resized in your browser before upload to speed up processing, so most phone and camera photos work fine. For the fastest results, keep files as small as practical.

Question 8

Are my images stored?

Accepted Answer

No. Your image is processed on our servers and deleted immediately afterward.

Question 9

Do you have an API?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Pricing and documentation are at removepixel.com/api.

Question 10

Can I use the results commercially?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can use images processed with RemovePixel for commercial purposes, including product listings, marketing, social media, and business websites, provided you have the necessary rights to the original images.
